NEW YEAR'S BABY "BULL": Andrew Brown and his wife Amanda Friel-Brown saw their son Everett Francis Brown born at 3:45 a.m., the wee hours of 2012, weighing in at 7 pounds 4.5 ounces.
Well, former Belleville Bulls player Andrew Brown and his wife Amanda Friel-Brown saw their son Everett Francis Brown born at 3:45 a.m. weighing in at 7 pounds 4.5 ounces.
Everett is the younger brother to the couple's first child, 17-month-old Hudson and though the couple is leaving the door open they say having another child at this point is not something they are planning.
"We have two boys and Hudson is a very busy boy, so if this one is anything like him we will be running off our feet," she said laughing.
Brown who played his final season for the Bulls in 2003-2004 is originally a Bancroft native, but now the couple resides in Belleville's east end.
The couple's due date was actually December 29.
"He was a little late," said Friel-Brown adding that the little bundle of joy has made New Year's special for them. "We were just saying that New Year's Day and New Year's Eve will never be the same for us." Everett is named after Amanda's father Wayne's mother's name, Evelyn, and Andrew's grandmother's name was Francis. Looking ahead to 2012, Brown said the family is enthusiastically looking forward to the future.
"We have lots of hopes, with a young family we are looking forward to being happy and healthy and doing our thing," he said.
But as far as evening out the male female ratio in the house, the couple said they are quite content for now.
"We don't feel the need to try for that girl," she said. "Not just yet anyway."
